2 x Molex to 6 Pin PCIe Male Power Cable (PCI Express) – Graphics Card Adapter Power Cable to older power supplies
Cable used to convert older generation power supplies for newer graphics cards.
This cable converts 2 x 4-pin Molex connections into 1 x 6-pin PCI-E power connection. Suitable for connecting PCIe Cards from NVIDIA and ATI with older Power Supply which does not have 6-pin PCIe Connector.
Power conversion cables NOT recommended for GPU Mining due to cards requiring power above nominal power draw and no power supplied via direct PCIE x16 Slot due to risers used and cables will overheat and melt in the long term. Physical Damage on incorrect cable usage on a graphics card needing too many watts above the cable maximum watts will not be replaced under warranty.
This Cable will provide up to 2 x 36Watts Watts via the 2 x Molex connectors to 6pin and will draw up to 75 Watt from the PCI Express x16 Slot. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WHEN USING A PCIe Riser and Cable will only provide 72 Watts via the Molex connector and another maximum of 30 watts via the riser sata or molex connector on a PCIe riser before it will run too hot.
- GPU Maximum Power to be used when on PCIe x16 Slot : 72Watts from Cable Max Power + 75Watts from PCIe x16 Slot = 147 Watts Max Power usage
- GPU Maximum Power to be used on cable when on PCI Riser : 102 Watts Max Power Usage
Common Graphics Cards Nominal Wattages (Excluding Overclocking wattages, if overclocked cards will use more power) –DO NOT USE THE CARD WITH THE CABLE IF IT EXCEEDS WATTS ABOVE on the specific setup.
- Nvidia GTX1050 – Some cards have 6pin connectors, Nominal Wattage 75W – Cable safe to use when on PCIex16 Slot providing additional 75W to card
- Nvidia GTX1060 – Nominal Wattage 120W – Cable safe to use when on PCIex16 Slot providing additional 75W to card
- Nvidia GTX1070 – Nominal Wattage 150W – GPU power exceeds cable max power + PCIe x16 Slot Power, do not use with this card
- Nvidia GTX1080/TI – Nominal Wattage 225W, 300W when gaming – GPU power exceeds cable max power + PCIe x16 Slot Power
- AMD RX460 – Some cards have 6pin connectors Nominal Wattage 75W – Cable safe to use when on PCIex16 Slot providing additional 75W to card
- AMD RX470 – Nominal Wattage 120W – Cable safe to use when on PCIex16 Slot providing additional 75W to card
- AMD RX570 – Nominal Wattage 150W – GPU power exceeds cable max power + PCIe x16 Slot Power, do not use with this card
- AMD RX480/580 – Nominal Wattage 185W – GPU power exceeds cable max power + PCIe x16 Slot Power, do not use with this card
- AMD Vega 56/64 Nominal Wattage 295W – GPU power exceeds cable max power + PCIe x16 Slot Power, do not use with this card
